The Witcher Season 5 Announcement Is Just a Hype Machine for Season 4

Even before the third season has hit our screens, they’ve already announced a fifth season!

So, we’re all waiting for the next season of “The Witcher,” right? The third season is coming out on June 29, and it’s definitely got us on the edge of our seats. But here’s the kicker, they’re already talking about a fifth season! That’s two seasons ahead.

I know what you’re thinking, “that’s super early, isn’t it?” And you’re not wrong. I mean, we haven’t even seen the fourth season yet. In that one, we’re supposed to see Liam Hemsworth taking over from Henry Cavill as Geralt, the main monster-hunter dude. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Hemsworth is cool, but we’re all gonna miss Cavill, right?

Apparently, Cavill decided to leave the show because he felt the story was straying too far from the books. Well, that’s his take, and it’s hard to argue with that. But here’s what I think is happening: The people behind the show are probably nervous about how we, the fans, will react to this change, and they want to assure us that even with Hemsworth as Geralt, we’ll still get at least two more seasons of the show.

You know what it sounds like to me? It’s like they’re saying, “Please, don’t leave us! We promise we have good things in store for you with Hemsworth!”

According to Sophie Holland, the casting director, they’re gonna film season 4 and 5 back-to-back, with just a short gap in between. To me, that’s another sign that they’re just trying to create some hype for the upcoming fourth season, while we’re still waiting for the third one to drop. They’re banking on our love for the show and hoping that the announcement of a fifth season will keep us hooked, even with a new face for Geralt.

So, it seems like this early announcement might just be a PR move to build up some hype for season 4. But hey, it’s just my take. Who knows? Maybe Hemsworth will do a killer job and we’ll be more than happy to binge-watch two more seasons. Can’t wait to find out!
