Ever since Maddie Ziegler left Dance Moms, she has performed in bigger and better endeavors like starring in movies and performing with Sia.
Like most people her age, she has a boyfriend. Eddie Benjamin is a lucky person, and he is from Sydney, Australia.
Ziegler is quite happy in the relationship. During an interview, she described her romance as “the best.” She revealed, “I feel very excited every day that I get to date him. We have such a good time together, and we were best friends for a really long time before we dated. It’s like I’m just hanging out with my best friend every day. It’s really fun. It’s honestly the best. I love it.”
The fact that they are able to relate through their career has made the relationship stronger. So how did the two meet?
How they met
Like many modern relationships, the couple started communicating online. Ziegler was familiar with Eddie’s work, and she sent him a message through Instagram. Ziegler stated, “It was so random. I was a fan of him on Instagram, and we started talking.” After a bit of interaction, they felt it was time to meet up, and they finally came together at The Grove in Los Angeles.
Even though they seem like they were meant for each other, they started out as friends before developing into lovers. They maintained contact despite Eddie living far away from Los Angeles. The star revealed, “He got on a flight back to Australia that very night. It was so quick, and we were friends for over a year before we got together.”
While being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, Maddie had nice words about their relationship.
She revealed, “I feel very excited every day that I get to date him. We had such a good time together, and we were best friends for a really long time before we dated. It’s like I’m just hanging out with my best friend every day. It’s really fun. It’s honestly the best. I love it.”
She also confessed that she had reservations about dating someone in the showbiz industry, stating that such relationships were intense. She felt that both of them inspire each other. She revealed, “We feed off of each other so much. I think it’s so cool that we push each other every day. It’s cool that we can give each other advice. He’s just been so supportive.”
They Started out as Friends
Even though they started as friends, going into a relationship was natural. They had a lot of respect for each other. One could feel the respect between them, and they have a strong work ethic.
This made them have great admiration and appreciation for their careers. Ziegler appears in Benjamin’s music, Speechless. She has confessed that Ziegler is one of the most hard-working people she has met. Benjamin does not shy away from showing his love for Ziegler.
He stated that her creativity amazed him, stating, “I was just so drawn to Maddie as a person. She’s so warm and loving and artistic. There are certain people in this world who are just a little more colorful than others, and she’s definitely one of them.”
There are adjustments both of them had to make to maintain the relationship. Eddie had to adjust to the increasing amount of attention Ziegler got every day. Even though he is famous, he was not used to following the Ziegler commands.
When talking about it, Benjamin stated, “It’s pretty intense… it takes some time to get used to! Walking out on the streets with Maddie and getting paparazzied for the first time was definitely a shock. I came from a beach, so that shift was like, ‘Whoa, OK! What’s going on?'”
