Fans of the ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ series have a reason to get excited: Bronson Pinchot is set to bring back his unforgettable character Serge in the upcoming ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’.
The film, set to release on Netflix in 2024, marks the return of Eddie Murphy as the street-smart Detroit cop Axel Foley, complete with his iconic Detroit Lions jacket. This time around, Axel finds himself in California, embroiled in a case involving his criminal defense attorney daughter, played by Taylour Paige.
Directed by Mark Molloy, the film sees Axel clashing with the Los Angeles Police Department’s special-unit officer portrayed by Kevin Bacon and teaming up with a new partner, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer teases a dynamic comedic pairing between Murphy and Gordon-Levitt, praising Murphy’s unpredictable brilliance on set.
The movie also brings back franchise veterans Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and of course, Bronson Pinchot as Serge, whose character remains memorable for his hilarious interactions with Axel, including his comedic struggles with pronouncing Axel’s name. The original film, released in 1984, was a blockbuster hit, grossing over $234 million worldwide and earning an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ arrives three decades after the third installment, promising a blend of nostalgia and fresh comedy, reuniting beloved characters and introducing new dynamics that are set to capture the hearts of both long-time fans and new viewers.
