Natalie Portman’s Firm Stance Against On-Screen Nudity Almost Cost Her Career

Natalie Portman has set clear boundaries for her roles in movies, particularly regarding nudity. She shared this during her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

When asked about something she would never do for a role, Natalie responded, “That’s a good one. Um … show my boobs? Is that really prude?” Drew Barrymore reassured her that it wasn’t prude, to which Natalie explained, “I’m just always like, ‘I don’t want my kids to see pictures online.'”

She has two children, Aleph, 12, and Amalia, 6, with her estranged husband Benjamin Millepied. There have been reports of troubles in Natalie’s marriage since Benjamin was accused of having an affair. Natalie has been seen without her wedding ring, and there are rumors of a possible divorce, although there has been no public court filing.

A source told Us Weekly in September that Natalie and Benjamin are not back together but are spending time together for their children. The source said, “Ben is still wanting a reconciliation, but Natalie is still skeptical. While she hasn’t ruled it out, it’s not something she wants at the moment.”

Natalie Portman began her acting career as a child with her role in “Léon: The Professional” (1994). She gained wider fame with her part in the “Star Wars” prequels, playing Padmé Amidala. Despite the mixed reviews of these films, Portman’s performance was well-received.

She has taken on a variety of roles in both mainstream and independent films. In “V for Vendetta” (2005), she played a key role and famously shaved her head for it. Her performance in “Closer” (2004) earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.

One of her most notable roles was in “Black Swan” (2010), where she played a ballet dancer. For this film, she trained extensively in ballet and won the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Apart from acting, Portman has pursued academic achievements and is involved in various advocacy efforts. She has successfully balanced commercial and critical success in her career.
