Despite his Superman looks and robust fanbase, actor Henry Cavill has surprisingly never been named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive”.
A few days ago, nestled among the mountains of research papers, I was knee-deep into drafting an article on the past winners of People magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ title.
But as I pored over the pages, something was amiss. Like a suspenseful movie, where the final revelation leaves you slack-jawed, I realized – Henry Cavill, our beloved Geralt of Rivia and Superman, has never been crowned ‘Sexiest Man Alive’. Wait, what?
There must be some mistake, right? Like an overzealous sleuth, I started to investigate, checking, re-checking, and then triple-checking the list, just to be sure.
But each review only confirmed the baffling fact – Henry Cavill’s name was indeed absent from the honorees’ list.
Like a horror movie fan who can’t help but shout at the screen when the protagonist decides to split up, I was flabbergasted. How could Cavill, the dashing hunk who’s been making hearts flutter since 2013, never have graced that list?
And I wasn’t alone in my disbelief. Fellow fans from around the globe echoed the sentiment on Reddit and other platforms.
One user declared, “If there was ever a celeb who truly deserved to be called ‘Sexiest Man Alive’, it would be Henry Cavill.” And who could argue? From his captivating charm to his Superman physique, Cavill ticks every box in the ‘Sexiest Man’ checklist.
Another added, “I am a straight male but I sincerely believe that Henry Cavill has the most handsome/aesthetically pleasing face. Has to be the most attractive human ever, lol.”
At this point, it’s not about the award anymore. It’s about justice, justice for all those straight males who can’t help but appreciate the enigma that is Henry Cavill.
And let’s not forget the chap who questioned the sanity of anyone who doesn’t find Cavill attractive: “Henry Cavill is pretty much as physically attractive as a human male can be. When women disagree I am certain that there is something wrong with them rather than with him.”

So here we are, having unearthed an injustice of international proportions. It’s time for a change, People magazine.
The world has spoken, and it’s time for Henry Cavill to take his rightful place as the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’.
After all, he’s already a hero in our hearts. Might as well make it official!
